Pulse Jet Baghouse: Operating Procedures & Fault Handling

Сайт Импульсный струйный рукав is a highly efficient dust removal device. It plays a vital role in many industrial fields. Its unique pulse-jet cleaning technology allows dust on the filter bags to be removed quickly and thoroughly. This ensures the dust collector operates continuously and efficiently.

PART 01: Working Principle

The operation of a pulse jet baghouse involves two main steps: filtration and pulse-jet cleaning. First, dust-laden gas enters the collector. Then, the filter bags trap dust particles on their surfaces. Meanwhile, clean gas passes through the bags into the upper chamber and is finally discharged.

Over time, dust accumulates on the bags. Consequently, the system’s resistance increases. At this point, the pulse-jet cleaning system activates. It releases a high-pressure burst of air. This causes the bags to expand sharply and shake off the dust. After cleaning finishes, the collector returns to normal operation. It continues to capture dust efficiently.

PART 02: Operating & Maintenance Procedures

  1. Assign a dedicated operator during operation. This operator must keep detailed operation records.

  2. The operator must understand the collector’s principles, performance, and operating conditions. They must also know how to adjust parameters and perform maintenance.

  3. Regularly lubricate all designated lubrication points on the equipment.

  4. Frequently check the pulse-jet cleaning system. Ensure it is functioning normally. If not, inspect the pulse valve diaphragm and solenoid valve for failure or damage. Then, repair or replace them promptly.

  5. If a pulse valve fails, troubleshoot it immediately. Clean it if there are impurities or moisture inside. Replace the diaphragm if it is damaged.

  6. Periodically inspect the cylinders and all flange surfaces. If you find air leaks, replace the sealing rings immediately.

  7. Check the sealing strip on the access door. Replace it promptly if it shows signs of aging.

  8. Regularly measure process parameters like air volume, temperature, and dust concentration. If you find any abnormalities, identify the cause and address them immediately.

  9. Monitor changes in the system’s resistance. This helps you check if the equipment is running normally.

  10. Filter bags are wear parts. Check their condition regularly. Replace them promptly based on their level of damage.

  11. Regularly inspect the air path system and the ash discharge system. Immediately resolve any abnormalities you find.

  12. Check the moisture separator in the compressed air system regularly. Drain accumulated water based on its level.

  13. Inspect the explosion venting device monthly. Regularly replace aged or fatigued rupture discs. Also, clean dust around the vent opening to ensure its sensitivity.

  14. Clean dust from the differential pressure transmitter’s pressure guide tube and pressure tap monthly. This prevents clogging. Check circuit insulation and calibrate the zero point and range quarterly.

  15. During shutdown, keep the dust collector and exhaust fan running for a while after the process system stops. This removes moisture and dust from the equipment. Also, repeatedly perform cleaning and ash discharge operations before fully stopping the collector.

PART 03: Common Faults & Solutions

(1) High System Resistance

  • Причины:

    1. Filter bag clogging.

    2. Pulse valve not working or is damaged.

    3. Compressed air pressure is too low.

    4. The poppet valve doesn’t close tightly during pulsing.

    5. One or more poppet valves are stuck closed.

  • Решения:

    1. Clean the filter bags and improve ventilation.

    2. Maintain or replace the pulse valve.

    3. Check the air path and air compressor.

    4. Inspect the cleaning controller.

(2) Low System Resistance

  • Причины:

    1. Gas short-circuiting.

    2. Filter bag damage.

  • Решения:

    1. Check the ducts and repair any damaged areas by welding.

    2. Inspect and replace the damaged filter bags.

(3) Pulse Valve Not Working

  • Причины:

    1. Power loss or faulty cleaning controller.

    2. Debris inside the pulse valve causing constant air leakage.

    3. Burnt-out pulse valve coil.

    4. Compressed air pressure is too low.

  • Решения:

    1. Restore power or repair the cleaning controller.

    2. Thoroughly clean the pulse valve.

    3. Replace the pulse valve coil.

    4. Check the air path system and the compressor.

PART 04: Filter Bag Cleaning & Replacement

During use, filter bags can become clogged. This often happens with highly adhesive dust. Consequently, the collector’s resistance increases and performance drops. If this occurs, remove the bags from the collector. Then, rinse the bag surface with clean water. After rinsing, let them dry completely before reusing them.

The user should determine the bag cleaning cycle based on the dust properties and equipment usage frequency. Typically, filter bags gradually wear out after about one year. The main reasons are dust abrasion, high temperature, and high humidity causing fabric deterioration. Never operate the collector with damaged bags. This severely reduces dust removal efficiency. Therefore, you must replace damaged bags with new ones immediately.
